  • EFDC 50 Favourite Trees 2008 - Peter Burns in nominating his favourite tree commented: “Although cedars were introduced in 1638 from Syria and southeast Turkey, this variety of tree became more widespread in the UK in the late 1700s and I suspect that it dates from that period. In the storm of 1987 a huge branch came down leaving a great scar in its side.”
